Okay, changing out my very worn our carrier bearings but for the life of me I have no idea how to get the last piece off so I can slide to old bearing off. Can somebody please help! I have this all apart and need to finish it today. Thanks. Here is a picture:

Okay folks, boy did I get lucky. I was at O'Reilly to rent a gear/bearing puller and some guy in line knew EXACTLY what I was trying to accomplish. Said the gear puller might work (and it did) but that I should also get a large socket to press the two pieces back in (a 1 1/8 deep socket worked great).

First, the nut you must take off before pulling the u-joint yoke is 15/16. Take that off. And for those of you having trouble removing your 12point 12mm bolts, get a breaker bar. Without it, you will not get far.

So pull the yoke off, then pull the carrier bearing off. In my case, I just left the bearing on and put a new rubber cushion around it. You see - the carrier bearing is actually two pieces, the metal bearing and the rubber piece. The rubber piece EASILY comes off - great for pulling the old bearing off or just swapping out the rubber piece. My bearing seemed fine and I did not want to press my luck.

Go rent a gear puller at Kragen / AutoZone / O'Reilly and you will not need a press (and get a large socket to bang the yoke and bearing back on). $35 deposit and it's free the first 24 hours. $5/day after that.

Here are the pictures...

Good luck to anyone else who tries this. This should help!

Oh yea.... MAKE SURE YOU REMEMBER which way that yoke was pointing when you put it back on. Thank goodness I had these pictures to refer to. Very easy to put it back using the wrong angle. Careful.

And I can tell a difference. My rubber bushing was pretty shot and on a scale of 1-10 regarding vibration from a dead stop, it was about a 7 before I changed this part. I would put it at around 3 now. Guess I need a one piece drive shaft to get it perfect! Sounds like a fun project ;-)

I was going to say to put a one peice drive shaft on it and be done but from the looks of it thats on your to-do list.
