got it all back together but cant seem to get the high pressure line connected to the gear box to stop leaking. Used Teflon gas tape and still a leak. The fluid is coming from the steel line not the threads. any suggestions. The line is new. Dirty.

I poop in the furnace.
Check to see if there was an adapter on the old box. Sometimes they have different fitting types and the line wont seal if it's not the right style port.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
We used to routinely rebuild power steering boxes. Most often if the lower seal leaks you'll find the sector shaft is scored or rust pitted and I suspect replacement shafts won't be available anymore. Reman boxes are pretty cheap now.

Its not leaking at the pittman arm anymore. I bought a reman, leaking at the high pressure hose connected to the gear box.
