Talking to a coworker he stated he already called the junkyard to pick up his 95 2.3l 2wd auto extended cab short bed truck and they offered him $300

I went over his place to look at it. Mechanically sound but interior is shot, ignition is shot (starts with a screwdriver) doors are shot, bed is shot...

I have a 99 4.0l auto 4x4 extended cab short bed. That has a major motor problem and really is not worth the time or money to fix.

My question. Would the bed, seats, doors, and ignition from my 99 be direct bolt ons for a 95? If so I will match the junkyards offer and buy it. Swap everything over and part out or junk the rest of my 99.

Searching the forums are a bit,h on tapatalk but I tried.... Can someone point me in the right direction via a solid yes, no or a link to this info that i can read up on.

You have the same Gen Ranger. The bed will fit as long as one is not a stepside. Doors, seats are the same.

You might need to swap the door guts if one or the other has PWL, but I would say it's worth it.

Yea he dont even have a key so I can't even match the styles. The 95 is a XLT model but doesn't have power windows or locks... Kinda had me scratching my head. Didn't even think about having to swap the door internals. Good call Adsm.

Figured if I buy it. Fix and swap over. Sell parts or junk it ill come out even minus my time.

OK I went to pick it up........... popped the hood to put a battery in it..... its a 3.0 v6...... not a 2.3. Brought it home anyway. Drove it about 20 miles..... ran fine..... so I got to make a decision now.

Option 1: swap the parts off the 99 to the 95 and call it a day

Or

Option 2: swap the 3.0 to the 99 and call it a day. My worries with this are this is would everything bolt up. How much modification is needed? Also I know I'm probably gonna lose my 4x4.

Thoughts?

I'm going be doing research the rest of the day.
