Hello all. I’ve been doing some searching on here but haven’t been able to find a list for a complete brake job for my “new” truck. When I say complete I mean pads, rotors, bearings etc. I guess I’m more unsure of how many bearings and what other odds and ends I’m going to need. A “how to” video or description would be great. Thanks in advance

To me a 'complete' brake job is: Front - replace pads, inspect rotors for groves or warpage (turn or replace as necessary), look for leakage, inspect wheel bearings (repack ). Rear - replace shoes, inspect hardware for damage, wheel cyl for leakage.

Thanks for the reply! Are the wheel bearings pretty generic? Do you have any suggestions as to which pads/rotors to use or which to stay away from?

Buy Timken bearings if you replaced them.

Do you have manual locking hubs?

Generally you get what you pay for when it comes to quality of product. I understand when you’re on a tight budget , purchasing the least expensive pads and shoes can get the job done but be aware it may also effect the length of time your new brakes last as well as how well they stop your rig. Stick as close to OEM as possible unless your making a performance rig then the pricing can be outrageous with slotted and drilled brake rotors and so on. Stick to the basics and you will be satisfied.
