Pretty sure my pawl or actuator rod is broke. I finally have it scheduled to fix at local shop. Guy said he rarely sees them broken and it's usually a pin on centering rod or broken rod as I learned on this forum a while back. In order to be ready for my appointment in 10 days I'd like to order any needed parts. My truck is,
94 ranger, AT, 4.0, 4X4
THE INFAMOUS A4LD!!!
I have searched Google and only find A4LD but no 4x4 specific. If anyone can let me know a part number it would be appreciated.
Anything I might need other than
Pawl
Actuator rod
Centering pin?
Guy is highly recommended and works primarily on Ford's. Seems nice and was surprised he mentioned it is most likely a $100 fix. If it's the pawl then 300+/-
Thanks all

My credo
If you can’t fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem
Best bet would be to go to transmission shop and see if they would sell you parts from a core. No difference in parts for 4x4 or 4x2. Good luck!

Update:
Took truck to local trans shop and it's Fixed!!!
Turns out the parking pawl pin was bent and binding pawl. Shop said someone probably slammed it into park while rolling. New pin installed and total repair cost $220.00
As far as the pawl part number...I don't know. I believe the pawl is the same one used for 4R44E and 5R55E. Any trans shop that's been on business will have one if needed..
