I need a new parking brake cable since mine is missing. I've always hated the foot parking brake and having to bend down to release it. Has anyone relocated it to the center of the truck next to the drivers seat? The stock seat would obviously need to be removed, or cut, to make room but overall it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult. I tried researching this but found nada. Any suggestions? Links? I can't be the only one to think of this. (I have a 1991 2.3L Ranger. 2wd.)

Doesn't sound that easy

Why not look at adding a Brake Release solenoid, push a button to release it

My credo
I poop in the furnace.
I prefer hand brakes over foot brakes most of the time but in a pickup truck cab space is valuable. Wasting all that room for a hand brake seems counterproductive. As Ron said not easy. Gonna take some fabrication and clever sourcing for parts. My mkx brake releases by stepping down on it while its locked. No hands necessary. Might he able to rig something like that up to the ranger.
