sanford is about 45 mins SW of me. all we got here is wind and rain. the northeastern part of the state is what got hit the worst. i work for an insurance company and that's where all the bad stuff is coming from

I was in Woodstock VA when Irene passed through. I was laughing at the "hurricane" since what we got there wasn't as bad as most normal rain storms here in Norry.

Thanks for the concern Dave. It's POURING down rain right now worse than it did on Friday/Saturday when Irene came through. East of I-95 is what got slammed bad.

Yep.....usually the hurricane is out of wind by the time it gets above N. Carolina......

It's that foot of rain every 24 hours that does those folks in!!!!!!

The funny part is that my in-laws up here in Carlisle got it worse than we did in VA. It's about 50 or so miles further east though.

By the time we got back to Norry Sunday night you could barely tell it had even rained except that a few low spots on the streets were full of water still.

being on the west side of the eye also helped, the east side always gets the worst
