Was checking out the old carsdomain.com to see what sweet mods i could make sweeter in my truck seen a 5.0l swap. pretty cool idea. any body got any idea on what a good year explorer for the 03 ranger and any insight on where one might be let me know got the money just need pointed in right direction. :icon_hornsup:

find one on craigslist or j-yard. mountainer or emplorer frm the yrs 96-02 i thk are the best donors for a 5.0 swap for you truck. o ya USE THE SEARCH FEATURE lots of v-8 swaps have been done and some good info. and welcome to the site.

Country, did you understand any of that?

I got 5.0L, and 03 Ranger.

From that I will tell the OP this:

That is not going to be legal in PA. You can't put an older engine in a newer vehicle and the last year for the 5.0 was 01. So no matter what county you live in, not legal.

well i stand corrected on the year of the 5.0 being last run of 01. ya it does take a little bit of desifering but in the case of not being able to put a older engine in a vehicle in PA. then only choose he has is a 4.6 if he wants to keep it a ford.

well that sucks i'll find some kind of loop hole whats new yorks laws on older engine in newer trucks
