Gurus,

lil help would be appriciated. I started fixing my A/C and decided to replace the orifice tube after replacing condensor and accumulator. Taking it out was challenge, but now putting new one back is bigger challenge.

It is supposed to sit nice and snug, but not in my case. I cant push it after a point. Tried to put it by twisting and ended up breaking 2 tubes already :(. Check picture. Please help

make sure that the tube that the orifice tube is going in isnot kinked or bent, even slightly. other than that, clean it out really well, and make sure that the o rings on the orifice tube are lubed up with Nylog or PAG 46 oil.

firm and gentle and it should go in.

thanks for the suggestions AJ. I tried using the lube and checked using a cam. Inside looks clean and straight, but still it goes to a point and that doesnt move. I am stuck and not sure if I am doing it wrong. I have done it in the past for friends and it went smooth and easy, but not on my own truck :dunno:

You're sure that there isn't an old o-ring seated in the piping?

since you've got two damaged tubes try removing the o-rings and then slide in the tube to see if it bottoms correctly.
