Gotta change out my bearings soon and I wanted to get y’all’s opinions on wheel bearing grease. I have this black moly grease that says it’s made for bearings in mind.

What grease do y’all use?

Nope. Not a race car, but it is precious to me.

I’m asking because I don’t want to use the wrong thing and tear up my bearings on my non race car.

Then go with lucas heavy duty. It's cheap and really good. But anything labeled "wheel bearing grease" will work fine, I ment there is nothing specific about the wheel bearings on a ranger that require a special or unique type of wheel bearing grease.

You should only use synthetic red grease for muffler bearings.

I have this stuff from valvoline that says its for Chryslers and its red grease. I like it because it doesn't liquefy as much as som other greases.

Nothing beats 5th wheel grease though....

madanders:

Moly B grease is a very strong non-water soluble grease. It is what the department of defense uses for aircraft wheel bearings. It may not be very expensive but it is a great choice for a heavy load, wet or humid environment.

If I were going to be in sand, I would use white lithium based grease for the ease of cleanup and water solubility.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I've started using the blue marine grease, but I have some standard red, and some black stuff too for good measure...

Just make sure it's slippery, anything listed above should work fine, I've used mostly the red stuff before but the marine stuff is more water resistant I think so I started using that in trailers and 4x4's...

I bought a big tub of blue Kendall wheel bearing grease a longggggggggg time ago. It's still about half full... I just keep it sealed up. Doubt I will have to buy more anytime soon.

Yep, that's the preferred goo we used on wet, hot a**ed textile equipment. Also comes in tubes, Advanced or A zone or both carry it? All the above greases sound good to me. I will say i don't like WL because of the way the oil tends to separate from the soap base.

I have a 5 gallon pail of grease I've had for so many years the label wore off the bucket and I don't remember what it is. I use it for random nonsense.
