Kumho's are made in South Korea, and have a very good reputation for quality and ware. Equal to Hankook's which are also made in South Korea.
Wouldn't hesitate to put a set on my Ranger if I needed tires.

I agree, Kumho has a good reputation. From personal experience, all season tires disappoint but if it isn’t your daily driver, they should be good enough.

My blizzaks are awesome but they are too worn to run another season on and my "summer" tires now are cheapo continentals that are dry rotting. I just can't afford 2 completely new sets of tires. Especially considering it snowed all of 2 inches last winter so I'm just looking for a tire that will work good in the summer and "ok-ish" in the winter. Worst case scenario I do have chains...

what tire size are you running? several places carry the old goodyear wrangler radial for $75/tire. granted it comes in one size (235/75/15) but if you can run it, its not a bad year ‘round tire at a decent price. I got a set a few months back at ntb and there was a special of buy 3, 1 free. so I ended up only paying $300 for a set, mounted and balanced. just a thought.

I second the goodyear wrangler radials. I put them on my colorado when i had it and it would walk through some deep ass snow even with no weight and being an open diffed 2wd.

When I worked at a brake shop, we sold more Kumho tires than anything. My boss even used them on his Dirt track car. We pronounced it Koo-Moe, and called them Koo-Moe D's. ( like Kool Moe D, a rapper from the 80's. google him👍)

Kumho
Mohandas Dewese[1] (born August 8, 1963),[2][4] better known by his stage name Kool Moe Dee, is an American hip hop MC prominent during the late 1970s through the early 1990s. Kool Moe Dee was a member of the rap group Treacherous Three, and also one of the first rappers to earn a Grammy Award and was the first rapper to perform at the Grammys.

Early life and education
Born Mohandas Dewese in Harlem, Kool Moe Dee attended the State University of New York at Old Westbury, where he received a degree in communications in 1985.

Career
One of Kool Moe Dee's first feats was being part of the first major rap battle in history. He lyrically attacked Busy Bee after one of his performances in 1981. He was extremely mad at Busy Bee, for talking smack about other MC's, claiming that none of them could beat him in a contest. Moe Dee used some of his rhymes from "The New Rap Language" and "Whip It." He also used a little bit of Busy Bee's style during the battle. In 1985, the Treacherous Three disbanded. In 1986, he went solo, releasing a self-titled album that ranked 83 on Billboard. After meeting a young up and coming artist at Sugar Hill records by the name of Lavaba Mallison, who would later become his manager, Kool Moe Dee left Sugar Hill records to join Lavaba Mallison, Robert "Gusto" Wells, Greg Marius and up and coming Producer Teddy Riley at the newly founded ROOFTOP records. He co-operated with the young producers Teddy Riley and Lavaba Mallison which contributed greatly to the new jack swing movement that would gain popularity in the years to follow.

Kumho is good. Pep Boys is offering buy 3 get one free and free installation on Kumhos.

If you want cheap check out their Futura brand. I ran the mudders and A/T's alot as a broke kid, they withstood abuse. .

I always pronounced it Koo-Moe, but will call them Kum-hoes from now on.

Also have you tried farting on your tires? I heard it can reverse dry rot...

I don't have any experience with Kumho tires. You might want to consider going for Toyo Open Country tires. I recently bought one from 4wheelonline and I love the way it handles both on the highway and on rough roads.
