OK...I Have A 1987 Ford Ranger With The Extended-Cab...This Is What I Want To Do...I Want To Install Two 10" 600W Pioneer 4Ohm Subs Powered By A Boss Audio 1200W Single Output Class-D Amp...In The Front Where The Stock 4" Speakers Are Mounted In The Dash, I Will Be Placing Two 4" Lanzar 100W Speakers...Then In The Extended-Cab Wall Where The Stock 5.25" Speakers Were Mounted, I Will Be Putting In Two 5.25" Boss Audio 225W Speakers...All Of Which Is Going To Be Controlled By A Boss Audio 740UA Headunit That Has Front USB/AUX Inputs.........

Please Give Your Opinions...I Want To Hear What EVERYONE Thinks...So Pass It On To your Friends And Ask Them to Give Their Opinions.............
Thanx,
Kyle McD.

Sounds well rounded enuff. Just x2 check your rms numbers for your sub and amp. And make sure your ohms are right.

no offense but you wanted opinions....but Boss?:sad:your going to run 4 subs off an amp that does like 200-300rms? keep the 2 subs and spend it on a better amp.

That's why I stopped pushing brands, unless they ask. And just make sure what they have is set up right.

this amp is much better and puts out more power and doesnt cost much more and will last more than 6 months.
i agree,

were not trying to force name brands on people, but why spend the same money on garbage because, thats all you can afford, when for the same or just a little extra, you can have something that will sound way better than cheap crap.

boss is about factory car stereo level. except factory stuff last longer.

i had pyle speakers in my truck when i first got into the car stereo world, they were 30 watts rms, my headunit put out 17, thought they would be good, blew em in a week. never had the volume past 25, they distorted way too much.

were just trying to help ya out bro:icon_thumby: now go shopping and pop a cold:beer:

that amp does power at 2 ohms, so if you want 2 subs you would need:
2 single voice coil 4 ohm subs
or
2 dual 2 ohm subs
you just need to have a 2 ohm final load to get the most power from your amp.

and your new list is much better, power acoustics arent that great but much better than boss and the price is right, powerbass is good, but look around for a better head unit. All your signal will come from your head unit so if it sucks which boss does, it will ruin the way the rest of your system sounds.

But you are going in the right direction for sure.

these subs would work better since they are single 4 ohm voice coil.

or
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11231_PowerBass+PS-12.html

dual 4 ohm wont work since 2 dvc 4 ohm can only be wired to 1 or 4 ohms.

heres a better head unit within your budget:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17191_Clarion+CZ209.html

you cant go wrong with mainstream brands like pioneer, alpine, kenwood, jvc, clarion, eclipse, blaupunkt

sony and panasonic are okay but not great.

and stay away from anything made by Dual,boss/pyle/lanzar(except opti amps),farenheit, jensen, phase linear, soundstorm (soundstream knockoff crap) tko, valor,xo vision. those brands are garbage for the most part.

any more questions just ask...

your list is pretty solid minus the boss headunit so ill try to find some more alternatives within the same price range.

$105

Amp:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_19812_Soundstream+Di475.1.html $100

Subs:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11231_PowerBass+PS-12.html
$40x2

4" Speakers:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9118_Polk+Audio+db401.html
$55

if your on a tight budget just upgrade your front speakers and either disconnect or run the factory rear 5.25" speakers. front speakers will make the most difference.

this is some of the best i could find within your budget, but its still mostly lower end entry level gear, but its 100000x better than boss crap. you still need to factor in tax, shipping, wiring, box for the subs but you can build your own if you can, it will cost less and sound way better than a crappy pre-fab box.
