My oil pressure gauge likes to jump back and forth between low and normal

Truck is a 97 with 4.0 in it. The truck runs fine and shows no difference when gauge is jumping. I'm thinking bad gauge or sensor. Not too worried since truck has 270,000 and still runs OK. just checking to see if anyone has any idea

Thanks

It is common for the connection at the sending unit to get oily and loose and the gauge will do just like you described. Try disconnecting it, cleaning it up and make sure there is a good connection.
