My credo
built her in a storage unit
there are, so far, 6 oil passage threaded hex plugs in the block and head, the 2 in the head are a bit smaller, 1 in the front and 1 in the back, and the block has 2 at the back left, next to the crank and 2 on the front in between the oil pump and crank sprocket, my question is since i am replacing them and have new ones, what do i torque them to? i can’t seem to find any information on this topic. if all else fails i’ll just do wrist tight like a transfer case/diff plug but i would like to do it by the book if anyone knows.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
I've never seen a torque spec for them but you want them tight with a little hydraulic sealer on the threads.

They're pipe thread, there's likely a torque spec out there but I don't normally pay attention and just wing it, which might explain my oil leak in the back of my '90... I know for a fact that if you don't put enough thread sealant in the cam bolt you will get an oil leak there...

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
They’re pipe thread as already stated. Pipe thread usually isn’t tightened to a torque spec, it’s tightened to “turns past finger tight”.

Anything smaller than 1” NPT is supposed to be tightened to 1.5 - 3 turns past finger tight.
