Hello everyone, today I'm putting my engine back together. I was rooting through the seal kit I bought and I am unsure how it is supposed to go together.

Here you can see the parts of the seal for the rear cap.

When I took the motor apart I distinctly remember a plastic piece in the groove of the cap. It is reasonable to assume the rubber part of the oil pan gasket then goes over that like before.

The trouble starts when I insert the plastic piece. It occupies the same space the little rubber "wings" on the oil pan gasket should go. And then there is no explanation for the identical white piece of plastic.

I would appreciate some guidance from someone with the service manual or even who has done this before. Apologies for the horrible camera, if the bronco could stay together for long enough I could buy a new one!

Well I think I found a solution. Seems the gasket kit I bought for a 94 motor includes some parts for a -93 motor as well.

I just went through the whole motor on my 95. I ordered a FEL-PRO OS34309R Oil pan gasket and a FEL-PRO TCS45291 timing cover gasket set separately.

The oil pan gasket had the same little tabs, but no extra plastic bits. In fact, when installing the rear main cap/seal housing I used too much RTV, and ended up trimming the wings on the pan gasket.
