I have NOS OEM off-road lights I'm installing on the ranger, and I would like to know how Ford did the wiring originally or if no one knows then what's the best way to wire them? A wiring diagram would definitely help. I'm sure this topic has been discused before so feel free to point me to another thread.

Also, what connector is this? I need to get a couple males to make my own Y harness.

For having bazzilions of connectors on there I rarely find the one I need, it is neat though.

The connector you have is actually the male. It slides in to a female connector. You can tell by the locking tabs on the sides of it.

The female connector will have the actual electrical prongs/terminals inside of it.

Ah ok, thanks! I get these things mixed up. Nothing popped up on the pdf that was posted above, or maybe i'm blind.

I didn't either until i saw that picture in the '93 accessories brochures. That was the factory off-road package for the 93 to 97 rangers. It existed on the 1st gen rangers, but the roll bar and bumper were aluminum and the lights were rectangle. I'm sure you've seen photos of those rangers, but beyond the brochures I haven't seen any of the 2nd gen rangers with the off-road package.

I honestly wouldn't sweat trying to find the period correct Ford connectors. If I was the one installing them, I'd pick up a pair of male/female Delphi Weatherpack connectors. Just be sure you get the correct size to handle the amperage draw of those lights. They're worth the money in the long term..

These are rated at 20amp, which should be enough for those lights. I'm assuming they're 55 watt?

The next ones are a better deal, not sure if they're truly Delphi or not though:

Here's a set for 12ga wire:

So for funsies i researched if i can find the mating connector to the mystery one above and i finally found a picture, but unfortunately with no part number yet.
I guess this was only used for the driving lights (i.e. what i have) in the late 80s and early 90s. The overall light part number is E9TZ-15200.

Waiting two hear back from two sources if they might know.

For this connector, check out mustangs 87-93. I just got my fog lights in and they have the same connector. On the box mine says mustang 87-93 and them being the same light just a different connector this plug should be on a mustang.

So i looked a tons more for the mustang gt harness of the years mentioned above and no luck. I feel like that is not such a rare connector to be looking this hard. Either way, i ended up buying the delphi connectors @Bird76Mojo mentioned, so ill be using that for the two lights in addition to the third brake light i bought.

This wiring diagram will work correct? I presume the supply power for the switch can come from the ignition, unless there's a compelling reason to wire it directly to the battery.
