bought a obd reader for my 2.9 series 1. no luck yet finding the problems but then i haven't been using that truck. when i watch you tube vids on using the OBD, they run a bypass wire. is that required to get the dash cel to flash codes?
my work truck is a 95 with a 2.3. it needs the OBD2 reader. the connection is under the steering column. will i need a jumper wire on that? i found that there was no bulb in the cel. now there is. but i am not sure how to get it to show codes. i had the battery out yesterday. when i first started it today, it was trying to stall. after reving it a couple of times it stayed running right. i didn't think to look at the cel before it did run right so i am wondering if the computer needs a minute to reset after replacing the battery
