Hi guys I have a 2000 cord ranger XLT and I bought it with the stereo not working allready. I checked all the fuses and there good so I got a new unit off of fb marketplace ( it was working on his truck) plugged it in and it’s still not working. Any ideas on what’s wrong?

My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
Is it doing anything to show signs of life?
Does it light up? Buzz? Antenna?
Are there speakers where they are supposed to be?

Yeah, it does light up but that’s it. Doesn’t buzz or anything. And as for the speakers I believe so haven’t thought about that.

Did you verify that you have power at the connector? Grab a multimeter and check that. Fuses may be good but if somebody hacked the wiring at some point you may still have a problem.

Yup checked the voltage seems to be fine about 13v going through the connectors.

My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
Mine had an aftermarket cheapo head unit, which worked fine until it didnt. I replaced it with another cheapo head unit. The aftermarket harness adapters looked exactly the same, but when I plugged the old one into the new unit, it did not work. I spliced in the new harness adapter, and it worked. It was weird because they looked exactly the same.
