So this ****er snowballed...

Cam lost it's hardness, so it's getting a new cam, bearings, rings, honed, decked and the crank polished (had some minor scoring). Bearings looked good for the most part, #8 rod was just getting into the copper, but that's it.

Bores look great, can still see the crosshatching and no ridge to speak of.

So it's at the machine shop, should get it back by next Friday for reassembly.

Today I removed the condenser. Also forgot to add the other day I removed all the Evap stuff too. Also pulled the front CV axles and disassembled them and reinstalled the stubs.

Thinking I may work on tacking up the first section of downpipe off the turbo with the wastegate recirculation pipe, then TIG it at work.

I have MS3X installed, full sequential, ignition control, idle control, fan control, water/meth control (Also installed). I used that time to greatly clean up the wiring.

Thanks and no thanks, this was enough work :icon_twisted:

Installed my water meth system, then decided to use a stock washer fluid tank for the water/meth, so I bought one on Ebay (I removed the original one a couple years ago and lost it) and installed it, I now have a windshield washer again and a low fluid warning light. I'm using -20º washer fluid which is 34% methanol.

Also got some clear corners and restored the headlights.

The ol' Dakota took a hit to the rear the other night. Slowing down for someone turning into a driveway, I check the mirror and see the Saturn Ion behind me is slowing down, so I look back forward and just as the car in front of me turns I hear an odd noise, then BAM, my head goes flying back, hat goes flying off and my radar detector flies out of the visor. I hop out of my truck, with my arms in the "WTF position" expecting to see the ass end of my truck demolished. It's fine. The Ion is spewing coolant everywhere and the Nissan Hardbody behind him is smashed in pretty good too.

So I guess this is what whiplash feels like.

To answer your questions, my truck is fuel injected so I can't really help you on the blow-through front. For a remote setup with 7PSI I wouldn't really worry about intercooling. I'm using water/meth injection and think it's a great way to go however.

And for anyone curious the, truck is still running great. I've done a couple trips and it still pulls 19MPG no problem.

Any preference of which brand to go with for water/meth kit?

Mine's bastardized together. I bought a used snow performance pump and I'm using a DevilsOwn nozzle and their low profile nozzle holder. I'm using the stock windshield washer fluid tank and using -20 fluid, which is 34% meth. It also has a low fluid warning light.
