I pulled a Honda civic onto my trailer. I have a 10,000lb winch at the front of the trailer. I put 3/4" plywood down on the ramps, each one overlapping the next by half the width. It came up with out too much trouble. Did I mention that it had no rear axle and no front spindles....
Stack the plywood starting at the top of the ramps.

Looks like @PetroleumJunkie412's yard but his has Rangers.
No joke, yard is completely vehicle free.

I have a parts bunker. It's a deep, dark hole in which I store parts.

There even a frame in there. And axles. A set of wheels, etc.

It's a deep hole.

I've always thought birmhouses were cool. Is that what you call that, a birm house?

Hobbit Hole.

I saw on in Arkansas. Not as cool as that one, the one I saw was just Cinder Blocks in the side of a Hill, with a door. Looked almost "military". I didn't get to go inside, but he said it was a 4 bed, 2 full bath, house. with a wood stove for heat. The chimney, or smoke stack, was barely noticeable. Looked like a bucket on the ground.

I would buy a 12k winch from harbor freight, use it to get it on the trailer and then return it and get my money back. A big winch like that would drag it sideways up a trailer lol.

Being from harbor freight the winch would probably catch fire halfway through the job and burn down both trucks and the trailer and somehow cause you to get crohns disease.

Actually they are not supposed to be bad... just ungodly slow.

A new Smittybilt on Amazon is cheap enough if I had the $$ and need I wouldn't bother with a HF one.

I hope this is an attempt at a joke. Don't do this. In the long run it is why prices go up and companies go bankrupt.

Harbor Freight stuff really hasn’t been that bad as long as you keep in mind what you are buying. I have had some things from them that really haven’t been that bad for an average consumer. I wouldn’t want to use a lot of their stuff to make my living off of but for a shade tree mechanic, they work.

That being said, a HF winch for a trailer might be ok but I wouldn’t want one for off road recovery.

Getting the Explorer on the trailer is possible - I loaded the Expo that I had removed all the good stuff (engine, transmission, rear axle) onto u-haul trailer with just ratchet straps - OK, I used 8 of them and it wasn't exactly fast, but it got the job done, and I don't think it cost me the equivalent of an Andrew Jackson. I used a couple 2x8 instead of plywood under the springs, resetting as required.

Unloading was more challenging - largely because there wasn't as nice of purchase point, but we got it off. Then I used engine crane/floor jack/car ramps to maneuver it into garage.

Some famous guy said with a lever long enough, he could move the world.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Getting the truck back off is the easy part...
Chain it to a tree and drive away.
