No rear end Expo.

So I'm going to look at a 2000 v8 explorer today ($250) What I do know is, It does not have a rear end. How hard would it be to get it on a trailer and the 30-40 miles back to my house. It has no tires on the front, but I have some rims/tires I could put on it. But not having a rear end is where I have trouble figuring out how to get it on a trailer.

Depends on the trailer. I've moved cars around with an axle missing using a floor jack but you ain't gonna climb a ramp that way. Making some dolleys shouldn't be hard though.

Been down this road.. the junkyard was able to load it on the u-haul dolly with a forklift. But trying to get it back off was an absolute nightmare. Plus the leafsprings were too narrow to fit on the uhaul dolly tracks, so had one side sitting on the frame.. it was sketchy

Once it was off I put the cart dollies mentioned above on, and it moved around but bumps/cracks are a pain to overcome with those

Some tow companies still run hook lifts. (My place has a hook lift). One set of rolling wheels is no problem. Pay the 200 bucks...

grab an axle out of a junkyard and bolt it to the leafs. make sure to get a few tires as well for the axle. number one, you got the axle you need, and number two all you need to do is bolt it in place, you don't have to hook the drive shaft for the tow. so 200 or so for axle and wheels, or 200 for a proper tow....

Support the back of the vehicle with blocks and a beam (thinking like a 6x6, piece of I-beam or C channel, etc) and make it high enough that you can back under it with your trailer. Once you've got the trailer under it, lower it down onto wheel dollies or a couple jacks and winch it the rest of the way up. Not the easiest task in the world but that's how I'd do it.

Thanks guys. New info, i went to go look at it, no ps spindle. The interior is trashed and the dash is missing. All wires seemed to be there. So it only has one tire. Lol. Im hoping to find a flatbed operator that will pull it up on that thing and bring it the 30 miles.
