So, this truck of mine... it's still doing this low RPM B.S. I'm not exactly sure yet.... EGR works fine for the most part. But it's miss-firing. I stalled out three times at a stop light today.. I was like WTF!!! Would even be possible for my truck to be slipping in and out of time? The timing belt is brand new and I made sure it was perfect. I'm stumped.

Symptoms:
No power

Can't get enough RPMs to get into 4th gear, even when I do get it into 4th it sounds like a piston is gonna bust through the block

Intermitent

Good on oil

added a tid bit of Marvel's

Doesn't matter if it has a full tank or a low tank of gas it still does it.

It's been doing this in warm and cold weather

truck isn't getting up to very good temp, but has plenty of antifreeze

Have you checked the exhaust for restrictions?

Hey GF...just take it in to have it tested. A shop won't change you much to run a diagnostic....it beats you getting hurt when that thing stalls on you in some horrible neighbourhood and I don't want that to happen to you, ok??

Have you dealt with your melted converter and rich-running issue that caused it? If yes, how so?

Would even be possible for my truck to be slipping in and out of time?
Yes it is. Your timing isn't set by the valve timing like it would be on a distributor style, although the valve timing being off can cause your current issues.

Check your crankshaft pulley. Your timing is calculate by the computer based off the signal it gets from the crank sensor. I have, on rare occasion, on the newer style 2.3L seen the crank sensor's tone ring start slipping. I have seen other engines with your style crank pulley go bad and the tone ring falls off or the rubber insulator that holds them on gets really worn and starts to slip.

How is the weather? Is it still really cold out up there? Have you tried blocking off the radiator?

Its staying at a good 28 degrees sometimes lower, i should probably cover my radiator. But my truck did just fine last winter in 60 below. Maybe i can talk my boyfriend into looking at my truck with me. He just had surgery though.

Edit: so today it ran like crap then it does this short glitch thing a couple times and then ran fine, and it keeps doing that short thing and the cel will flash on and off. So its gotta be a silenoid or something. Im just gonna go price out a new truck. I dont have any credit though so im ****ed. Lol
