No power after cold spell was running fine

Got cold wouldn’t start changed it overnight fired up next morning drove to work hardly no lights died at work no start after battery light on but dim few hours later sarted now nothing . Bought new battery drove it home new battery was showing under normal. Pulled off pos. Died newish alternator

Disconnecting the positive battery terminal while running will turn the car off—this is not a diagnostic test. If you want to test the battery/charging system, get a voltmeter.

Rebuilt alternator?

And besides not being a good test, pulling the battery cable off while running can blow up the various electronics in the vehicle. Been there, done that. I said "can", hopefully it didn't.
