It is paid off.
i bought it cash and no loan.

Well needless to say almost half my monthly pay check goes on gas.
Besides my mom still has her 03 2wd and by bro will have his 4x4 ranger.

dont worry, when this happen i will always come around here.

Here's the thing, you have your current vehicle paid off, looks like by your picture you have a lift and some pretty aggressive tires. If I were you rather than spending money on a different vehicle I'd look for some less aggressive tires and remove the lift, keep the parts of course, because you never know one day you might be able to afford to go have fun and want the lift and tires back on. Fuel economy suffers considerably when you are running with aggressive tires and a lift. Plus you state you have a 2.5L so that's not helping matters any for fuel economy you are working that engine trying to spin those heavy tires.

I have a full size truck I know what you mean by fuel economy problems and using most of your paycheck in gas $80 a week to fill up my toyota tundra, $54 every week and a half to fill up my 84 Bronco 2. So since I got the bronco 2 running I've been driving it and only drive my truck once a week or once every couple weeks just to keep it running correctly.

Something you may consider too, you said your mom has a 2WD ranger, if she don't work maybe you can swap vehicles with her as the 2WD ranger would be easier on fuel for you. Or park your truck and find a cheap car, I seriously wouldn't get rid of something that I spent all that time and money building to what I want.

I cant take the lift off because of the axle. it wont fit properly if i do, so i cant take off the 31's either.

and i tried talking my mom to trade trucks and she said NO hahaha.
Also, if i could afford a car for DD trust me i would do it, but i cant get anything else without selling mine.

I just don't see the financial sense.

What gas mileage are you getting? If its 20 or above it would take you some time before you save money... especially if you're only getting a Mazda3. A Mazda3 will get you about 25 to 27 MPG realistically (My dad owns one, drives mostly highway and its even a newer model with the efficient engines...). Over the course of a year, if you drove 25000 miles (Which is ALOT) that would only save you $1100 for the entire year.

$1100 is a lot less than a new car.... and then you factor in all the mods and money you have put in to the truck (which you won't get back) and I just don't see the $$ being saved. Unless you get a Chevy Spark or Ford Fiesta... and still then, you wouldn't have that bad ass Ranger...

Idk man it's a beautiful truck, I know I wouldn't have ever sold my baby! Still kinda wish I could have found another nice one to buy, alas, the market was dried up in my area for the options I wanted...

Whichever way you go, I've always had a good experience reading through your build thread, and that truck will always be remembered on these forums. :icon_thumby:

Frank: I dont think we can do that, since well my truck has a salvage title.
Airmaster: I know i wont be able to get my truck back, or even build another one like this. its hurting me to think about selling it, but its not helping me at all. Im getting around 17-18 mpg

I hear ya RSH. We had a very nice EB Expedition that my wife loved. When gas prices sky-rocketed, that $120/tank thing got real old. I ran the numbers and ended up buying her a brand new civic which easily paid for itself with gas savings (she drives a lot.) We both really liked the Expedition, but had no emotional attachment. That would more difficult in your situation.

Just don't go all ricer on us. OK?

Trust me, i wont go ricer.
Plans are:
My stereo, HID lights and black out the rims depending on the car color.

I have an eye on a 04 2.3 manual trans. its black with black leather interior. it would look hot with blacked rims.

And a 05 2.0 auto. its dark gray.

seems like the difference between them is that the manual 2.3 makes 1 mpg less than the 2.0 auto
