my '99 XLT FlexFuel 3.0 has lost it's merit and I want to swap it out. Swapping for something bigger/different isn't viable at the moment but would swapping to a newer generation of 3.0 be a bad idea? I know all too well these engines have issue and this is the original engine with 235k miles, it's starting to show it's age (also, I'm not the original owner; got it at 290k). I've kept really good care of this but I'm just sure the motor is done. Is swapping for a newer gen 3.0 viable and worth it?
