Hello everyone,
My name is Cameron and I have been a Ranger owner for over 5 years. My first Ranger was a 2001 2WD XLT. I recently purchased a 4WD FX4 LVL 2 and intend on turning it into a Pre-runner/Off-road hybrid. I am new to Pre-running, so if there are any tips or advice you could give me, that would be great.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Welcome to TRS :)

Usually Pre-runners are 2WD, but "pre-runner" has taken on its own meaning now

In the beginning of off-road circuit racing when team race trucks started to cost $20,000+ the drivers would often take an old beater 2WD truck and run the course in it to see what to watch out for, so he was "pre-running" the couse, and it didn't really matter if the old truck got beat up/crashed during the pre-running, that was the point of doing it in an older cheaper truck

But as guys will be guys, teams would often race their pre-runners, lol, its got an engine? I bet mines faster, lets race

So the Pre-runner was born, and like yours, they can be very very nice trucks and 4WD
Common attributes are quickness/speed, long travel suspension, light weight, and larger diameter tires
