So I finally broke down and install my new-used (free to me radio) since the factory one was fading in and out. Everything went great but I mixed up my red and yellow wires on the radio, so the memory does save. Time to pull it out tomorrow and swap those two.

One question though, on the dash panel next to the AC vent, where the push button 4wd selector would be, is a blank with wires connect to this. WHY? just more of a curious question.

Didn't have the tool to remove the radio so time to improvise... (2) 2-1/2" finishing nails with the tips cut off and a pair of modified vise grips I use for clamping stuff.

and the final look...

probably pre-wired for a feature your truck didn.t get, 4wd maybe?

I have several of these on my 87 D21 E. No factory stereo, but the harness is there, there's another plug, below the cluster, left of the steering wheel, just plugged into nothing. Maybe the same for your Ranger.

I was curious about that. I guess I would have to look at the auto shift wiring for the 4wd selector and see. On a side note, swapped the 2 wires and now I have memory to the radio.

It is pre-wire for stuff you didn't get. The one Ranger850 mentioned is for the Fog Lamps. I have it on mine too as well as the the other end on the left and right side below the bumper, but no lamps.

On a side note, I think I need to swap my yellow and red wires too, cuz I can't remember shit.
