I usually stripped wire with my Klein wire crimpers. Give it a couple gentle squeezes with the cutters... then apply a little pressure and pop the insulation off. I'm getting older and my right hand just don't work like it use too. So I sprung for a new pair of Klein strippers. I already like the adjustable stop... and they work pretty damn good.

I've been using the HF Quinn version for a little while. I'm a fan of them. When this one wears out I might step up to a better quality like the Klein.

Been eyeing the LANG brake caliper compressor, $90, didn’t quite know if it was worth it. Saw one at the Napa yesterday while buying brake pads for the F250, little bit cheaper and still made in USA.

No regrets. hate brakes less now.

I bought one of those off Temu for a few dollars last time I placed an order. Didn't know if I'd want to and didn't want to spend a bunch on something I wouldn't use more than once. One of the removable plates bent the first time I tried to use it, but I was also trying to force in a siezed piston. I think I can straighten the plate, but it worked well enough on the non-siezed caliper to convince me that it was a handy tool and worth spending more on a replacement if I can't.

Lang and Napa both sell replacements for the plates on theirs. If it’s a direct rip, you could try and just get the replacement plates.

I bought a whole bunch of yard sale junk this weekend. A little railroad track anvil, some Pony pipe clamps, two nice floor jacks (2.5 & 3 ton) for $40/pair, two boxes of random spray paint/chemicals/grease, 5x concrete deck post blocks for $1 each.

I also bought a box of random junk which had a 25' roll of 4ga welding cable, a 2150 carburetor, some Craftsman wrenches & other goodies in it for $11 but when I got it home everything under the top layer of stuff was covered in mouse or cat piss and mouse poop. I threw out an otherwise very nice Petzl headlamp, a couple battery maintainers and some other things... it was so gross. The tools all got soaked in bleach. Fortunately the best things didn't appear to have been peed on. Ya win some, ya lose some I guess.

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Took a ride to hazard fraught after work yesterday and grabbed some step drill bits to make the o2/wideband bungs in the exhaust on the '96, also grabbed one of their 'pelican' cases to house my fiveseven. Got the case half off thanks to some 'anniversary' money they sent me for having their credit card lol. Probably havnt used the thing in a year..

So, you reamed out your bung hole?

And why do you need a case for your pelican? More importantly, WHY do you have a pelican?!?!

Here's the 'pelican' case in all seriousness lol.. just finished picking foam.

I wish the squares were a little smaller.. can't beat 15$ though! It'll fit with a red dot too.. I wouldn't mind one of those someday.

Went to garage sales and to the Habitat for Humanity Re Store today and picked up some things, the main new to me tools were a 8" mini shear/brake, battery terminal crimper and butane soldering iron. The little brake was $30, crimper $1 and soldering iron $0.50 so I don't think I did too bad, might be missing a couple little things from the description I found online on the brake but it's listed for $150...

... you need a 12 step program of some sort. Seems like you're at auctions and stuff as frequently as most of us change our underwear lol

Yeah, I know... I at least obtain less stuff than I used to, I'm trying... :). What I really need to do is get a loft built in the shop so I can get some of the parts inventory out of my way so I can get more organized so I can clear out the garage and separate stuff I've upgraded from or don't need...
