Not as neat as that but a couple weeks ago I bought one of the new 10mm socket sets from HFT... 10 different 10mm sockets, the rail they come on is cheezy but hey, it was only $10 with the 30% off coupon...

I've been suckered into 10mm sockets before, I know it's been an online running joke but you can NEVER find the right 10mm socket when you are looking for one, that set should have me covered , two swivels, two impacts, 3 deep, 3 shallows, everything is covered...

On another note, after two trips to Home Depot (first time around I bought welder sized wire... way overkill), after the sticker shock heart attack I got some short runs of wire and the socket for the garage sale air compressor I got a couple months ago... 15' of 12/3 Romex was like $67, 20A 230V socket was $7, breaker was $16 and the air compressor itself was $30... luckily it worked, pressure switch worked, not sure what pressure it shut off on since the only gauge is on the outlet of the regulator... will play with it later. As for the welder sized wire, $87 for 15' of 8/3 and $17 for a breaker... full dumb... before the price hikes a couple years ago I bought a 250' roll of 12/2 Romex for $65... should have loaded up on anything I thought I would need... I'll wire up a welder plug tomorrow night...

I seem to have found the limits of the cheap M12 3/8" brushed drill. I typically used it for lighter duty stuff... like drilling holes in sheet rock for wall anchors... pilot holes in wood... etc... it didn't like drilling 1/2" holes through my stainless topped work bench to mount my vise. It let half of the magic smoke out halfway through the second hole. Only half I'd guess because the drill still works. But I had the charge lights flashing and smoke rolling out of the vent holes. I'm not sure if I should finish letting the smoke out or just try to warranty still working as is.

I got out my old DeWalt 18 volt hammer drill to finish up the task. And that brute caught going through the last hole and turned the drill right out of my grip and further hurt my already bum right thumb. Been swelled up for a couple days since it happened.

I'm not sure how the warranty works but I'm guessing I will have to send it in to be repaired or replaced.

My 20 volt DeWalt didn’t like running a 1/2” drill bit either. It took a little while to let all the smoke out but it did. I had the drill long enough that the warranty had run out. So I didn’t bother and just bought a replacement.

I’ve smoked a lot of cordless drills at work. Still a lot of stainless.
Best way to keep from overheating them is to step the bit size up to reduce the load, about 5mm at a time.
If the motor starts getting hot I will just let it run for a minute with no load to get the air circulating.

The brushless motors run a lot cooler.

Between me and the other guy we burn up one drill a year. Normally have three on hand and rotate them.

Dewalt brushed drills. I’ll probably start buying the brushless ones and see if they last any longer.

We bought a big corded drill and everyone is just too lazy to drag out an extension to run it.

Harbor freight has been stepping it up as of late I feel like.

My first indicator was them starting to sell the 'ghost' 212cc motors for karts and stuff.. the regular predator 212 has been a favorite in the kart world for yeeeeeears because it's much more affordable and literally just as good of a motor as the Honda unit.. so people started buying and modding those.. now they sell some all juiced up from the box.. pretty cool. Someone from the company is paying attention to what it's customers are doing with its products.
