i have a 91 ranger 4.0l manual transmission. i want to add more to the truck but still learning the different options. i was going to get a cold air intake from k&n, but they dont make one. i have been reading up on headers but dont know what the best ones are. the main ones that caught my eye are JBA headers. would this be a good choice. what about exhaust?

Rangers essencially have a cold air intake from the factory. The box has a tube that runs down and comes out behind the grill where it pulling in cold air, as opposed to air from under the hood. So I highly doubt that a cold-air intake will do anything for you if you can even find one. Or at least, '93 Rangers did.

As for the headers/ exhuast, I couldn't tell ya.

I have a 91 4.0 also I wish it was manual but it has the famous a4ld in it.
The cold air kit is a waste imho but it looks cool and cool does count for something, or I wouldn't have an optima red top in there. I bought a flowmaster cat back system and I really like it. I can't say for sure if it gave me more performance or not but it does sound better at idle and driving down the road. One thing I do have to say about the kit was it was the easiest thing I ever put on the truck it uses the same hangers and includes everything. I was harder getting the old rusted pipe off than anything. If you get the headers let me know what you think about them ok?
