New ring gear?

Ok guys im in the middle of a 8.8 rebuild ..bearings races..seals...ive inspected the gears an all appear to be good...but ive seen where alot of ppl go ahead an install a new ring gear at this point...is that always necessary?or will my old ring gear be ok?as always...thanks guys for yalls input

I have done this before ( installing new diff or replacing open diff for posi ) and have not had a problem. If there is not a lot of wear you should be fine. If you know someone in your area, get a second opinion on pinion & ring gear condition.

how many miles? rough or easy life? stock tires or bigger ones? why are you rebuilding it? is your goal better acceleration, or better freeway manners? or just keeping it running as is?

Ok thanks guys...i will get second opinion..and its just to keep it as is...it had a slight humm to it before and a seal leak is primarily just to keep it in good shape
