Hey all. Been away for a bit and have been through some troubled times but getting ready to hit it wide open. Recently acquired a '00 Ranger extended cab 4wd as a shop truck/prototype vehicle. Our biggest problem has always been getting a vehicle to work on so why not just buy one ourselves? Solves lots of problems.

Just got the truck running with a new motor and had to replace the rear spring hangers / shackles because of rust. The rear bumper was bent up pretty good so we decided to start there with our upgrades. Here are a few pics of our prototype rear bumper. The final product will look just a bit different and these pics don't have the top plate on. The top plate will cover and have dimpled holes for traction when you use it as a step. Front bumper is coming up next as well as rock sliders/steps.

Here's a couple of pics of the test fitting.

Looking for input from outside sources. We can build anything custom but we are looking to offer a few production pieces.

Here's another shot to kind of show how it sits. Basically the same outer dimensions as a stock bumper. I can take more if needed.

My credo
I need more sleep.
I kinda had an idea like this for mine, except its going to be two tubes running horizontally with a spacer between and then a tube in front of the top one to stand on, but I have to figure out the lighting situation.

I love the look of that bumper . With the top plate are you planning on any type of grip tape around the holes or just dimples?

No grip tape. Just gonna reverse dimple some 1" holes (I think 12 of them across the top). I believe that should be enough to keep the foot from slipping.

Looks good, but on the end the single tube stickout is kind of a sore thumb. I'd add a small tube going from the end of the tube down to the lower tube at a 45...

If you're looking at selling these, is there any chance of a flareside version??

I like it! As previously mentioned a tube running from the end of the top tube tying underneath at a 45 would give more strength to the corner acting as a rock slider of sorts protecting the rear quarter a bit better.
