Hey SubaruTe :) Buddy, you've got a gem! Cruise control, 4WD, nice! Your interior needs some vac'n but the salt damage isn't any worse than my first Ranger. You do need to get under it tho, and check out the brake lines for sure, as well as any structural damage it may have caused.
You certainly have a lot of great things to work with there.
Welcome to TRS :)
Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised at how little rust damage there was, being a 30 year old nebraska truck

I poop in the furnace.
Back in the days when NJ had inspections... rusty 2.0 would NEVER pass.
They failed a van of mine with bad rust holes. I covered all the holes with duck tape and went back through. The guy shook his head at me but said "well technically I cant fail you unless the rust is visible". This time he said I cant have an orange light on my roof... so back to the parking lot and more duck tape to cover the light. "The guy just went, here's your damn sticker go away".

That inspector would have a seizure if he came around here.

Rusty 2.0 is actually in pretty good shape compared to some of the shit running around.

Theres a guy who used to run around town with an old mid 80s F250. Had a 300 with a 4 speed and (by his claim) 400,000 miles. The box sides would shift and wiggle like an old wooden wagon when hed go over bumps.

The cab/mounts whstever had rotted so badly that the cab had tilted back into the box and the drivers front was slanted.

It also had a busted shackle in the rear you could hear banging around.

Now hes got a mercury mystique that is only slightly better.

But really, rusty 2.0 is better then probably, 35-40% of the stuff i see rolling around this general area.

Rusty#1 looks like a lot of the old(and even new) trucks around here
Ill tell ya what dude, that truck was literally probably the best truck i ever owned. I had it since new, rolled off the lot with .5 miles on it and had well over 300k when it came time to retire the ol gal.

I used and abused that truck hard, pulled and hauled things a ranger should never dream of doing. One time i even hauled 27 bundles of asphalt shingles in the bed.

It had the original alternator, starter, fuel pumps, water pump, everything. All i ever did was tune up parts and shocks/brakes/tires to that thing.

Had a 2.9/5speed and only left me sitting once with a failed ignition module.

I retired it in 09 (still runnning like a top) because structuraly it was on its last legs.

Now it sits in the field behind the old house, donateing life giving parts to rusty #2.
