I've owned a bit rough 1994 5.0 E150 high top conversation van for a year, that I was planning on outfitting into a part camper & part work van. I decided to sell it and get a mini truck. I found a Ranger that I'm considering buying, so I joined to get some info.

I've been into cars my whole life, starting with air cooled VWs in the 1980s, then water cooled VWs in the 1990s and then 3rd gen Honda Civics ( mostly 1st gen CRXs ) in the 2000s to now. I've always done all the work on my cars, which are usually cheap projects.

Over the years I've learned how to do pretty much everything, except for real painting with a paint gun. My favorite auto work is engine work, including performance stuff. I also like to mess around with manual transmissions, like swapping gears if possible. For example, I'd use Civic wagon 1-4 gears ( all part of the mainshaft ) with a CRX HF 5th and final drive ( ring and counter shaft) to get a lower 1st and 2nd for faster acceleration, but the tallest top gear and final drive for good fuel mileage.

I'm a handyman now, but used to work for myself selling used parts from self service wrecking yards, before I moved out of California, due to how crazy it got there. Other hobbies include bicycle riding and black powder stuff.

Lots of good experience. Working on a Ranger should be easy for you. When you get a chance tell us more about it and post some pics.

Welcome to TRS.

Thanks

I posted more about it in the basic Ranger section. I'll post pics when I get a chance.
