Hey All, I've lurked here and on other Ranger forums for years researching and trying to keep interested in my project. I have a 1987 Ranger Super Cab XLT that I custom ordered back in 1986 and picked up in January 1987. Here's a quick rundown of its equipment.
2WD
2.9L V6 engine
Five speed manual trans
XLT package
Split bench seat and fold down jump seats
Power windows
Factory dual tanks
3.73 Traction Lok rearend
Add-ons that I added:
15 inch aluminum wheels and tires
Stockland fiberglass shell
Pendaliner bed liner
The truck was "my baby" and served me well for almost eight years and just over 100K miles. Then a water pump blew and melted a piston before I could stop. At that point, I decided I wanted to do a V8 swap. I began researching and collecting parts while also hoping the emissions laws (California) would become more favorable at some point. Obviously, that didn't work out. I still held out hope because I knew "doctored" emissions inspections were available for a reasonable fee. Well, life took over. Career, marriage and family prevented me from getting to the project. At some point I decided to just put it on hold until the kids were grown and I could retire, then move to a more "car friendly" state. Either Nevada or Arizona were my preference. So the truck has languished in my garage for almost 30 years. I'lll be moving in the next few months but not where I had hoped.
Which brings me to the main reason I've joined here. I don't want to haul the truck or all the parts I've collected to the new home, and I would really hate to send them all to the scrap yard. I'll be listing them here in hopes of going to a good home. Hopefully any potential buyer will be local because these parts are too big and heavy to ship.
