Hello All, New to the group and I've had a 2011 Ranger XL for about a year now. Good running truck, but a year of being in Galveston Tx takes a quick toll.
So a "refresh" seems to be in order, and perhaps I can pick up some tips on working on my Ranger, and provide some humor/help to others along the way.

He is probably on the island part of galveston, like i am here in corpus. Just living within walking distance of the ocean and the salt air, plus the 100+ degree summer sun beats the paint up.

Superj nailed it. Heavy salt in the air/high heat and humidity/ blistering sun, all makes rust just bloom, and rubber curl.

Hey Rover! Welcome to TRS :) I spent a good bit of time in and around Galveston in the late 60s, 70s, and early 80s. One long summer in Todd Shipyard that was pure hell on earth. Good luck with your truck man

Thanks Josh B, you remember Galveston when it used to be a more "fun" place, but I quess that's like everywhere else.

Yes, it was clean when I bought it, no rust, low 77,000 miles, but that's probably because it sat at an auction for a while?. Its a salvaged vehicle, but was put back together straight and runs real good. I don't buy really new, expensive trucks for Island use for reasons already stated, just keep em together till they rust away.
