Eww. Doesnt look like it could haul a load of sand paper around the block. To shiney and to much bling. Horrible body lines. I dont like it. Looks to cheap and play like. Doesnt look like a truck you would want to get dirty.

They just changed the apearance of the front clip, the tail lights and made the front doors a little longer. It is a extensive facelift, not a complete redesign. The thing I don't like is that they stayed with the really thick heavy look.

If I got one it would have to have the black grille, the chrome one is way too much.

I think it looks really good. Good move on there part, making it look more like the superduties.

i like that. alot I'm almost considering an FX4 to be honest

this turck i think may be a revolution to whole truck industry, Just from that site i read alot of things that ford is bringing from aftermarket to their factory vehicles (ie power running boards). I really like that blue and black grille insert on the FX4. Oh and i guess ford finally caught on to the whole rear locker thing! Nice touch.

I'm not too sure about the "all v8" lineup they're talking about. I still think there should be a v6 in there with a manual trans for all us who don't need a v8.

The only thing the V-6 had that the 4.6 didn't was the lack of power. At least in the existing trucks 4-5 mpg seperated the 4.2 and the 5.4 with the 4.6 in the middle, economy wise there really wasn't alot of reason to justify it. It is too bad they cut the manual tranny though. They did add the three valve 4.6 for a mid sized engine.

From what I have heard the diesel and the 6.2 is coming out in 2010, which is really too bad. Really the only thing the compitition has on the existing truck is power, the 6.2 would be more than a contender for anything the competition has on the table at this time.

Yeah I work at a ford dealership and when people come in looking for just a work truck i steer them towards the 4.6 in most situations its gonna get better gas mileage then the 4.2 and you can still get 4x4 with it. 4.2 is a piece. It doesn't have enough power for the new 04 and up trucks. I don't know why they offer it. plus you can't get 4x4 with a v-6 anymore. Its hard to sell a truck that slow.

They shoulda kept the 300....

My friend and his dad had 2 basically identical trucks....his dad had a 2000 2wd longbed with a 4.2L\5sp, and he had a 94 F150 with 2wd and longbox, only it had a 300\5sp. That 300 would spank it 1\4 mile.

Dustin

For those that might be in the area they are going to have the truck from the Detroit Auto Show at the Midlands International Auto Show at the Quest Center in Omaha. I haven't heard if the new Ram is going to be there, but it should be kinda fun comparing all the new trucks that have came out in the past couple years (Ram, F-150, Sierra (I don't like the Silverado's front clip), and the Tundra) They usually let you sit in them and fiddle with stuff, pretty fun.

One big reason the 300 was dropped is the fact it is long. Hard to fit it under the shorter hood of newer trucks. I believe that is why GM made their 5 cylinder for the Canyon/Colorado. I think their idea was a straight 5 is cheaper to build ( 1 cam, 1 head, 1 timing chain ) and suppose to have decent torque.
