Not for mine for = a 86 b2 with 2.9 4x4. needs a new negative cable and they dont stock the orinial types. can i buy a longer single cable that has a little add on to run to the core support wire and just use a bolt that connected to the frame in it original spot and not have to run it up to the neg. side of the batter

Yep. Thats what I had to do.

Buy the long single cable and run it down to the frame (where the old one was) and skin off some of the rubber so that it makes a ground onto the frame. From there, run it over to the block where it can be bolted.

Basically, I just removed my old one and mimicked the route with the new one. You or your buddy should be able to do the same.
