Best bet for exterior and interior is obvious...same year and trim. If you're not in a hurry.
I'm on the mailing list of my pull yard and get notified whenever a 94 rolls in. They list the engine but not the trim, but do post an image from which you can determine the trim. If it looks decent, I go.
Maybe your local yard offers that...?
My local yard has been more helpful than I expected. They are able to look up compatibility of parts (year to year) on my Ranger. Also, if a part doesn't fit I can return it for a refund within 30 days.

One note, it's generally preferred to post updates in the original thread, MUCH easier to follow instead of in 3 different threads...

Other than that, glad you found a door, the dent in the back of the cab "might" be able to be pushed out some if you pulled the drivers seat and seatbelt retractor to get back there

Sorry about that, and thanks for the heads up. Going forward, I'll post from the original thread.

If you would like, one of us Moderators could probably combine the threads…

Yes, if it's not too much trouble. Combining them would be great. Thanks!
Ok, unless someone beats me to it I’ll see about getting it done this evening, give me something to work on later, lol

Re: 1997 damage restoration... the bed and door are situated as best as possible to accommodate the misshapen cab area. I had to rebuild the door frame surrounding the striker with lots of filler and Bondo. Not pretty, but better than it was...

A new problem: tail light issues..the emergency flasher, left and right blinkers, and brake lights don't work in the rear. Tail lights and back up lights work ok, and all lights work in the front. I replaced the blue flasher relay under the dash, and cleaned the connector (under the rear bumper) between the tail light lamps and the wires coming from the front within the frame. Finally, I removed an old trailer power cord that had been in between the front wiring and the tail lights. Any suggestions most certainly appreciated! In advance, thanks for your input!

In 1997 Ranger has a 3-wire system for turn and brake lights
There is a separate wire to the rear for left and right turn/flasher from the multi-function switch(turn signal stalk)
Then 1 wire for brake lights that splits at the rear to both sides

There are separate turn wires from multi-function switch to dash turn/front turn bulbs, no connection to rear turn, so not a flasher issue

Does 3rd brake light on cab work?
Its a separate wire from brake pedal switch, if it does work then not a switch issue
If it doesn't work then could be brake pedal switch issue

Issue most likely at the tail light connector in the rear, check wires with test light or volt meter

Light green wire is the brake light

White/blue wire is Right turn
Light green/white wire is Left turn
