Need help finding diesel parts

Hey guys, as some of you guys now I got a 86 diesel ranger that I am working on. I am putting the drive train in my 88 but before I do that I want to rebuild/freshen up the motor. I am having a devil of a time finding parts. I knew it would be hard to find parts but I didn't think it would be this hard. If you guys know where I can get parts for this thing please let me know.

I am going to rebuild it so I need every thing. I am trying to find some one to rebuild injector pump and turbo. I would try the pump myself but I have never been inside a pump before. I have not pulled motor out yet because i wanted to find a line on parts before I took it all apart. It runs now but sounds like the valves need adjustment.

find a mitsibishi dealer, that 2.3l turbo engine is STILL in production, it can be ordered as an industrial application. they should have all the info you need on getting new/remanufactured parts or getting yours rebuilt, if no luck there try looking into diesel repair shops in the area, they have customers with oddball diesels all the time, most of them know at least what direction to point you in if they cant help you themselves...

you guys should try finding parts for the 2.2 perkins diesel im glad my 83 came with a spare motor!!

You might see if they were used in something else (like a forklift or something) and try going thru a parts supplier for them that way.

Pumps are generally not simple to rebuild and better left for the pros.

yup....it's the 4d55

The part for this engine are very easy to locate. I have several resources for internal parts. Things like the pump and turbo can be rebuilt by any competent diesel shop. I would not recommend doing the pump yourself because they require special equipment for calibration. Feel free to email me at: spenceevans@yahoo.com
