Need help diagnosing a problem I’ve had for 3 months

Acts like a carb with a bad accelerator pump.

Im still saying its a fuel pressure issue. The throttle plate is opening, the injectors are opening to dump fuel...but the fuel isnt available fast enough.

Fuel pump maybe getting weak.

My check engine light came on today and I got the codes read. Still haven’t tested fuel pressure. Any

Well battery voltage Low is pretty self explanatory

Do you have a DUAL exhaust?
If not then there is no Bank 2 cat converters

Have a look underneath cab on passenger side and under bed, if you see TWO separate exhaust pipes going to the back then you do have a DUAL exhaust
If there is just one pipe then you don't

And yes, OBD readers will cause codes where no code is possible

P1000 just means battery power to computer was cut at some point in the last week or so

Check your battery voltage engine off and engine running
Engine off, 12.3v to 12.8volt
Engine running, 13.5v to 14.8volt

I am having the exact same issue on my 2005 3.0L. I have replaced the IAC, MAF, TPS, Spark Plugs, Wires, fuel filter and didn't find any vacuum leaks either. Its driving me nuts! Hopefully someone knows what the deal is.

It’s pretty frustrating. I still have some tests to do but if I figure the issue out I’m going to update this thread.

Just single exhaust. That’s weird about the battery. It’s not even a year old.

I’m sure it’s not a big deal. It’s getting cold here. I don’t recall doing those things mentioned

Still voting TPS as it looks like a delay in air/fuel mix changing to Rich
Although I would expect to hear pinging during hesitation from the lean mix, which I didn't hear

Do you have the same hesitation when engine is cold and idle is higher?
Computer runs Choke mode just after cold start, which is richer air/fuel mix, higher idle and different spark timing


Your 650rpm idle seems a bit low for a 2006 3.0l, would expect 750 and then 800 in gear(or AC on)
Not that that's the problem, but could be, more of a curiosity of why the computer would have 650 as target warm engine idle, that's what manual transmissions idle at

PCV Valve is a vacuum activated valve, but in reverse
When throttle is closed the weighed valve inside the PVC is sucked up, closing it, when throttle is opened the vacuum drops but PCV Valve should just drop a little, if it is falling completely open that could add too much air, causing the hesitation
You could plug the PCV Valve hose taking it out of the picture, just as a test, its a longshot but not a no shot, lol
What’s the best way to plug the pcv hose?
