this is the 84 V65 Magna I bought for $100 in April 2018.

27355

27356

27357

I put a battery, handlebars, grips, tires, and brakes on it to get it road worthy and road it like this for 9 months, approx 9000 miles

last Thursday I added new KTM extendable mirrors

27358

27359

and today I rode 180 miles round trip in the rain to get this

27360

27361

to date I am less than $850 in this bike.
$100 purchase price (came with a parts bike aswell)
$98 AGM Battery
$230 for tires (including mount/balance)
$38 3 sets semi metalic ceramic composite brake pads
$9.99 for grips from amazon
Free Handle bars from parts bike
$109 tax title license
$105 mirrors
$75 new seat cover (not installed yet)
$75 windshield, installed.

This bike is the fastest bike I have ever owned. I can 0-60 < Three secs, 1/4 mile 11.09 @ 118mph with a top speed of 154 mph....... Not bad for a 35 year old bike thats been abused and neglected it's whole life

I'm very jealous. Been wanting a chance to try a V65 for many years. Great score!

I lucked into this one. The guy wanted $500 for it. My soon to be ex wife offered him $100. 2 months later he contacted me saying that everybody from Craigslist kept flaking out and not showing and told me if I could have it out of his garage by the weekend I could have it for $100... so I rented a trailer and picked it up. Bought it as a not running wreck... i used jumper cables to hook in the battery from my Ford, put in some fresh gas and it fired right up. Bought a battery... well you know the rest.

It’s an amazing bike. I am thoroughly impressed with it. It’s thin, quick, and nimble. Pick a line in a corner and it holds it.

I see two other nice oldies in those pictures. I see a '94-'98(ish) Honda Accord Coupe, and I see a Gen1 or Gen2 Ranger. That Ranger looks like it's in beautiful shape.

It’s a 94 2 door Accord that belongs to my son and the truck is my 1990 F150... not that great of shape, just all the damage is on the other side. The Accord now lives in Ohio and and that pickup barely runs. The white pickup is my neighbor’s Toyota that leaks more oil than my Ford.

*giggle* I was right on the Accord. :) The F150, not so much. In my defense, though, the F150 and the Ranger do have similar body lines in those years, especially the crease at the door handle, and they use the same mirrors and door handles.

That Accord was a nice rust free car we scored from a guy at work for something like $250 and spent $900 on a used jap take out engine and trans. That gave us a Vtec upgrade for less that finding the engine that was in it. So for $1200 all in he had a nice reliable car. When he moved back to his Mom’s in Ohio he took it with him... he was racing and threw a rod on a 40,000 mile engine. Now he’s walking... he has to look at it everyday and I hope it reminds him how stupid he was to be racing it...
