Got a lil bit done today. Just finished up one of the radiator covers. Tomarrow will be final supports and
skid plate hopefully. If football doesn't get me distracted.

Well, looks interesting...want to see the finished product before I would comment further...but when I saw your images I thought "gee, that's a really small bumper..." :)

Well I don't plan on crashing into tanks. It's mainly a brush guard for camping and fishing trips

Built not bought
Skid plate for sure all the way up . Or at least half way with the rest covered by some thick steel mesh for air flow the rest of the way up .Tow hooks in the front from any full size truck at the jy and there you go

I'm with you on that, I got a lot of junk talked on the FJ forum about the aluminum skid I had on mine with a tube bumper. Same idea as yours, Keep sand, mud, and brush out of the engine and radiator. Not a lot of mountains and rocks here in eastern NC. Its all in how you use your truck and what you like.

A good start. Keep the pics coming.

The factory bumper is actually pretty strong. My wife lost control of my ranger and put it into the guard rail and ended up getting the truck hung up on the rail last month. Didn't do too much to it.
