Hey there everyone!, thought i'd start the build thred of my truck since its going to be in my yard at 5 today :), he's gotta 2.9 V6 with a hole in the drivers manifold, te passenger's side axle shaft needs to be replaced for the
4wd t work. a tiny bit of bedwork [to pass inspection] and the brake caliper to be bolted back on. its also a 5 spd which is a bounus :) Comes with a spare door and 2 spare fenders. im heading up the the junkyard in a little bit to get a 2 old tires with deep treads i seen up there that hold air. also going to see if i can get the black brush gaurd beside the garage [I work at the JY anyways :p] it looks to be a ranger brushgaurd but it was modified to hold a whinch. I'll keep ya updated as i go!

Also I would love some tips and easy things to do to this to improve the offroadability :p Bad thing, I've only got very very basic tools, and no money. so gimmie some tips!

What are your plans for it?

Tip for offroadability:

NEW TIRES, those are far from offroad tires, also look a bit worn too.
Move those flood lamps in back to the front bumper, be a nice addition.
Might wanna consider putting a brushguard on it, should not cost more than $150 for a decent one.
Try to find a good place to see how it handles offroad, so you can get a better idea of what YOU want to make of it in the future =)

lose the mudflaps!!:icon_rofl: you could do a washer lift on the front for a few inches of lift and a taller block in the rear and get some REAL tires:icon_rofl:

Well i just got it :shok: Today i started painting it, and looked a bit more around it. then i took it in the logging trail behind our house :) Only has 2wd though... the front drive shaft and passenger axle are missing. well the drive shaft is in the truck on the floor. Got stuck three times bit with a bit of rocking got out :) two times i was up to the axles in mud. Found out I'll also have to replace like half the exhaust from the engine to the muffler.

Hey everyone, I did some more work to the ranger :), painted the bed, front bumper, and grill black. But now i have 2 big problems.... When i start the truck, it suddenly revs up to 2500 - 3000 rpms. without touching the gas and it stays there. I'm thinking it might be the injectors. and its smoking a little bit now... i replaced the oil and it stopped smoking as much but it still smokes a little bit.... could someone please help me with this?

What engine is in it? it does not sound like it is stock from what you are saying. could be just as wrong though.

Might wanna fix that shaft in front, or remove it.

She has a stock 2.9 V6 in it. it ran fine until 2 days ago. started running a bit more crappy [Due to the holes in the manifolds getting bigger] now its idling super high and wont stop. it used to run high then I'd kick the throttle and its go down to around 1250rpms. I'm thinking it may be the O2 sensor. Replacing the whole exhaust sys tomorrow. Will try to remember pics!!

Hey everyone :), Just thought I'd let ya know i'm getting a Bronco II tomorrow.
Going to strip it and use all the parts for my ranger. I could put it back on the road... but I'm more for pickups :3gears: gunna strip the B2. put the good non-smoking and non high revving engine in it. get the new axles out of it, and the calipers and brakes. the bronco will set me back $300 + $100 for towing.
