I'm getting frustrated with this Jag.

I replaced the fuel pump and the car starts and runs, but I'm still getting the P0628 Fuel Pump A Control Circuit Low. The car idles just a little rough.

I wanted to pull the fuel pump relay and swap it with another one, but it looks like the relay can't be replaced.

Here's some pics I took of the live data below. I'm guessing FRP is Fuel Rail Pressure (55.7 psi).

And now....

When I turn the key the car starts and then dies. But if I give it some gas it will keep running, but idles rough.

Not all of em all bad, but Jags are known to be a handful. Mr Oaks is a patient and brave man. For example some of BMW 3 series are known for reliability, longevity and resale value.

Id repower it. Wonder if a viper V-10 would fit? Or just put the whole body on a 93 series F-150 chassis. Heck make it a diesel!, or go with a electric powertrain.

I've had a couple of friends pick up used LR's in the last ten years or so. I think one was a Discovery series II, the other was an LR3. In both cases they're mechanically inclined and went into it with eyes wide open. They each were happy with them. The guy with the LR3 had it for a good while and the only issue I can remember was replacing the air compressor for the suspension system.

Sometimes I get devilish thoughts about those especially poorly made range rovers and then remind myself what a nightmare those years would be. The ones that are not old enough to be classics, but not new enough to be made well

edit - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-land-rover-range-rover-54/ like this.
Wow - that's the first manual transmission Range Rover that I've seen. I drove a 5 speed Discovery years ago, but even that was rare. Very cool find!

If nothing else they are only an inch different in wheelbase than a explorer Sport...

And/or LS swap kits are available.
