Is there any special way I should check the fuel pump? Did you say these things get variable voltage going to them?
reset the computer would be my guess, but I'd trust Bobby way more obviously

I have yet to look deep into the jag setup. It may be a fixed voltage if your lucky.


I am a bit busy....trying to keep from total hair loss..... I have a tool when I get done with this train wreck I can send that may make it easier ...

I have to get this done as much as possible before the 22nd as I have to mobilize a crew for revenue work.

Started the Jaguar today and it's idling fine now for some reason.

Went to Harbor Freight and picked up a Basic Fuel Injector Service Kit so I could measure the fuel pressure with the key on, and then with the engine running.

When I got home I discovered that Jaguar apparently did away with the Schrader Valve on the fuel rail after 2003. Sum Bitch!!

So..... not sure how I'm going to check the fuel pressure. My guess would be to disconnect the hose going to the fuel rail in the middle of the photo, and somehow insert the T-fitting that's in the kit in between there to connect the pressure gauge. :icon_confused:

I think that's exactly how you do it.

Looks just like a normal spring lock coupler... there are proper adapters for that very thing. might be able to rent one from the parts store.

I don't know how similar the 04 is to yours but I found this thread that links to other threads. It seemed similar to yours...

Thanks for looking that up.

When Bobby was here we were looking it over and noticed that the platic fitting for the vacuum line going to the fuel pressure regulator sensor was broke, so I replaced that sensor with a new one.

It's to cold to work today. When it warms back up I need to pull the rear seat up and check the connections at the fuel pump, figure out how to test the pressure, and then order a new pump if everything else checks out.

in texas? im guessing 60- which is what we had here in ohio a couple of days ago. Its 22 right now.
