Ah right on lol. Id definitely be switching back.. I'm usually relatively fearless while driving in shit weather but damn.. no lights when you really need lights is no bueno 😶 thankfully Im really never out after dark during snow season.
You know, you're a pretty resourceful guy. Would it be possible to switch back to good old fashioned tungsten halogen PAR lights? Or maybe a set of bumper mounted fog lights?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I don't drive it much on the road in the winter.

I feel they could project better with halogens and the LED's kinda clash with my Daylighters.

The bulbs are non-replacable on these, Ford forces you to buy a whole new housing when one burns out lol (thanks Ford)... Luckily they should last 50k hours.

I've seen aftermarket headlights that have heating elements built into the lens before... But I don't believe I've seen any for broncos AND they're usually over 1k.. way too rich for my blood. Especially considering most aftermarket lights only have a 1 or 2 year warranty 🙄

Some sort of set of lights on the bumper would be my best.. and seemingly only option.. but id want to go with LEDs.. so I'd have to look high and low for some that get hot enough to work in a snowstorm.

I've had hella 700ff's before on a prior vehicle.. and the damn things got hot enough where they would crack the lenses when it was snowing lol.

Living in the North can be annoying 😑

Hang in there buddy. I feel your pain. I live in Saint Paul. At least I don't have to commute.

And I woud love to have a two door Bronco. That shorter wheel base would make it easy to park in town. We have had a devil of a time with our Fiat 500. It's a nice little short-errand car, but freezing and thawing play havoc on our roads. I've had to replace 3 blistered tires damaged by chuck holes. I've also needed to replace the wheel bearings and the front axles.

A Bronco would be the perfect replacement: sturdy suspension, 4wd, a tight turning radius for easy parking.

Luckily Ford put lots of mounting points on the front bumper of your offroad vehicle to mount things like lights... or not.

We have the "capable bumper" on ours, we could have gotten the modular for free but this being before any of them shipped nobody knew if they were prewired for foglights. When the capable bumper was added to BD for '22 I jumped on it for the wiring. Well turns out they are all wired for fogs (just add the switch) and the "capable bumper" is really capable of nothing. The clevises are permanently attached and there is no place to mount anything.

Buuuuyyyyyy onnnneeeeeeeee! They're only getting more expensive... And rumors have it that Ford might axe the 2 door for 25.. hopefully not.

Im gonna eventually make a bar for my front end to hold a couple driving lights that's held by the two top bashplate bolts. Just gotta do a little "cad" and find some steel kicking around.

I keep hoping to sneak up on a different bumper. Even a takeoff modular would be fine.

I know that there's a china knockoff of ONE of the stock bumpers.. usually available shipped for less than what most people ask for their take-offs. Don't remember if it's the incapable bumper or the mod though.

This was my own attempt at a bumper bar for fog lights. I bought a pirece of thin wall streel tube crfafted two mounts from square tube, and two bases, then welded everything together. I bought some plastic end caps for the tube.

And no Rustoleum was used. That bar will look new for a very long time.

These are old school halogen style Hellas which, when aimed according to the directions, do not blind oncoming traffic. I thought about more lamps, but just don't need them for the street.
