Just installed Moog's cc866 coil springs today on my '93 Longbed 2.3L. These are rated for the 3.0 and 4.0 V6 trucks. I wanted as heavy as I could get to attempt to counter "the lean". (a battery move is next)
I had read on this site that the expected ride would be much stiffer, however, it is much better than stock. The stock spring is a constant rate spring, whereas the Moog unit is progressive. This makes a big difference. I didn't see a noticeable lift out of this and I didn't expect one. A spacer lift may come later if I don't think 30's will fit now.

Also, I rebuilt the leaf-packs as well. I removed the stock center leaf (3leaf), and replaced them with the center leafs I had from a '94 shortbed I used to own (also 3leaf). The "hybrid" springs brought it up about an inch or so over stock and also rides better.

If any of this info can be used in the tech articles, feel free to do so.

I think you might have to center your driver seat also...but if you manage to correct the lean through suspension it would probably be very useful...

My truck had a lean towards the passenger side...until I had the rear shackle replaced...seems to be level now...but mine is a first gen...and I don't see the lean in them nearly as much as 3rd gen

HeHe. Yeah, this one is on its third set of springs now. I am really thinking it needs to be put on a frame machine, too. I swear the thing's twisted. You can see the twist in the bed for sure. Just completed repairing some severe rust damage to the drivers frame rail as well. It looked twisted before that, though.

I've got some frame rust coming through around the spring brackets...may have to take care of that before I complete the bed swap...and I was actually thinking about finding a higher gear rear end so it might all come together at once...just have to come up with some $$$$$ to make things right...

Third set of springs??? Do you do many jumps on that or is it from hauling too much weight?

225,000 miles....and my rust damage was around drivers forward spring mount and drivers upper shock mount location.

Lol - no jumping, just a lot of highway miles.

These coil springs are holding up great. I did have to change out the rear springs again, though. One of the forward eyes broke in half. The only thing keeping it in place was the weight of the truck. LOL
