Anyone ever tired this? I have a fully built out 2.8 ready to swap into my 84. I know at some point with more track days in my future the TK5 will eventually die. Looking for options to have ready as spares. I already have a spare 88 2wd trans, but would consider just going the T-5 route if this is an option.

The 4.0l M5OD-R1 bolts up to the 2.8l block, 1990 thru 2011
1990 thru 1997 if you want speedo cable hookup
And shifter is in correct location

I would rate the T5 slightly better than M5R1 but not by much, I think there are just more Mustang guys around than Ranger guys, lol

The T5 shifter will come up thru the floor between the front edge of the seats, assuming buckets, if not it will be in your future, lol
I have read you can swap T5 tailhaft housing with one from Chevy S10 and that moves the shifter forward 5"

I was looking at the T-5 for the ability for aftermarket shifters and availability for rebuilds. We also have a few race cars that use them so I have spares and get some hand me downs. There is a Quick Time bell housing that is for the 4.0 assuming they made this for the v6 mustang crowd. I have posted if anyone has used this with not much of a response. Buckets are a must for the track days. I could mod the bench seat for use since I switch out for the track. Speedo is no concern I'm doing a fully Hollet EFI swap so GPS speedo will be installed.

$1400+ for a bellhousing when a 4.0 T-5 with BH from a Mustang can go for $400-800 used.
