I found out why iTunes doesn't work. For some reason the iPod has to be connected to the computer because for some insane reason iTunes decided to put the library file on the iPod. This means iTunes won't work unless the iPod is connected. Now that's just plain stupid.

I'm gonna do 2 seperate backups of the computer. One of the important data files and one of the complete drive.

Backing up the System State is a good idea...as well as having a recovery point, boot disk, and you can set a scheduled backup...not sure if you're running Home or Pro or if it matters though...

I'm now considering upgrading to XP...just because I can see support for 2K waning...

You might actually give the W7 beta a try. I'm not a fan of Vista, but W7 is actually very smooth even on older systems, and once you adjust it does provide some newer intuitive features that you don't have on W2K/XP.

I'm more inclined to install RedHat 10 as a dual boot so I can play with that a bit more...it has some nice features but it also has a bit of a learning curve that I can work with...just need a DVD RW so I can get on with some other projects and course material that is needed...doing CCNA currently and they provide a DVD that I can't watch...dang...
